Biomarker Discovery
In order to effectively realize the objectives of personalized medicine and maximum potential of targeted therapy (compounds and biologics), the outcomes of drug treatment need to be evaluated at an individual and not at population level, as measured by correlation with biomarker status.
ARL has capabilities to develop suitable direct or surrogate biomarkers (gene signatures, protein modifications etc) for:
- Evaluation of drug activity in animal models
- Evaluation of drug safety in animal models
- Bridging animal and human pharmacology via proof-of-mechanism or other observations
- Evaluation of efficacy and safety early in development
- Bridging mechanistic understanding of preclinical development and empirical clinical evaluation
- Integration of a companion diagnostic strategy into oncology drug development
