Outsourcing of standard R&D work is increasingly becoming important part of academic research due to research competition, advancement of technology and drive for productivity Catering to the academia community, ARL offers services that are typically of shorter term duration and smaller in scale than industry projects ARL also provides services in gathering bridging or validation data for assessment of technologies and assets that clients (eg technology transfer departments of universities, research institutes and hospitals) are evaluating for licensing, but do not have their own capabilities to perform the key experiments as part of the due diligence for decision-making ARL will engage in strategic partnerships with technology vendors in which ARL staff will undergo on-site training and bench-mark certification by vendor specialists to become Certified Service Providers (CSPs) for specialized technology platform Examples of unique, value-added services provided include gene expression profiling, chromatin-immunoprecipitation (chIP)-on-chip and DNA methylation analysis Customers can either contract the entire project that require these services or send samples for analysis to ARL
